Alamos Gold is committed to standing with the Lynn Lake community during this
challenging time and throughout the journey ahead.
Since the onset of the wildfire emergency, we have worked closely with the Town of
Lynn Lake, emergency responders, and our Indigenous partners to understand and
respond to the community’s evolving needs. Our focus remains on ensuring the safety
and well-being of our employees, the Lynn Lake community and our Indigenous
partners.
How Alamos is Helping
- We provided ground transportation to support the evacuation and re-entry of local residents, and we continue to offer logistical and other support to those returning safely home.
- Provided care kits and support for evacuees including our employees, residents from the Town of Lynn Lake, Marcel Colomb First Nation community members, and Mathias Colomb Cree Nation community members.
- We continue to support wildfire services personnel and firefighters who are working tirelessly on the ground by providing services, tools and meals.
We are proud to be part of the Lynn Lake community and remain committed to
supporting residents not only in this moment, but throughout the longer-term recovery and rebuilding process.
Collaborating for Long-Term Recovery
Alamos Gold is joining mining partners Hudbay Minerals and Vale Base Metals in supporting wildfire recovery across Northern Manitoba. Together we are collaborating with the Canadian Red Cross to utilize their expertise in post-wildfire recovery and humanitarian support. Our total contribution of $1.25 million will support emergency relief and rebuilding efforts in the wildfire-affected communities, including Lynn Lake, Marcel Colomb First Nation, Mathias Colomb Cree Nation, and others.
The funds will be allocated to a wide range of critical support services and recovery relief efforts, including:
- Evacuation assistance, including shelter, food and transportation for displaced individuals and families,
- Support for individuals and families as they return to their communities and begin the recovery and rebuilding process,
- Financial support for personal and household items,
- Mental health and wellness support including referrals to other services in the community,
- Support for local businesses,
- Community resilience projects to strengthen long-term recovery and preparedness, and
- Critical investments in disaster risk reduction programing that help build community resilience to better absorb and recover faster when disasters strike.

Additionally, Alamos Gold employees have made personal donations to the Canadian Red Cross 2025 Manitoba Wildfires Appeal. The amount will be matched by Government of Canada and the Government of Manitoba.
Our Ongoing Commitment
Alamos Gold is a proud partner of the Dreamcatchers Committee of Lynn Lake. Every year, we financially support and participate on this committee, promoting initiatives that benefit the community overall. Donations have supported many local initiatives including: Share It On Sherritt, the Christmas Cheer Program, Junior Rangers, the Burge Lake Camp, the Lynn Lake Winter Carnival, the Great Northern Pike Fishing Derby, and the purchase of a skate sharpening machine for the Lynn Lake Arena.
In response to the 2025 wildfires, Alamos Gold is establishing a $250,000 Wildfire Support Fund. Administered by the Dreamcatchers Committee, this fund will support proposals focused on rebuilding community spaces and strengthening long-term recovery.
